I Choose This Life

By Chrissy Beth Hubbard

In a world that asks us to live faster, to be more compliant, to disconnect from our intuition and nature and to fall in line

- I choose a different path.

I choose to take slow walks with my daughter every day. To see the beauty of nature, to stop and pick flowers from the field or watch a bird in the tree. I choose to sit in the sun and let my heart speak to me of its dreams, hopes and ask it which way I should turn or how I should move forward. I choose my own inner compass over the external pressure of others’ opinions, expectations or popular beliefs. I choose my family’s wellbeing and safety over any government or mass produced “health” advice or mandates. I choose to grow food on our land, to nourish my body with regenerative living, to give back to this Earth and to surround myself with those who want to do the same. I choose to love and support my community and to live with my eyes and heart open to those who are in need. And at the same time, I honour and choose to recognise that I cannot carry others burdens as my own. I choose to look after myself, to take time for myself because I love myself and so that I can better love and serve my family and community.

I choose to live in a way that my daughter grows up knowing how to use her own voice, to know that she doesn’t have to be a good girl or to conform to all that others may want her to be or to do. I choose to raise her wild and fierce and deeply connected to her own body and heart. I choose to live in harmony with nature and with the rhythms of the elements and to show her that nature knows the way. I choose to live further from the system and closer to the Earth. Closer to my heart.

I choose this life of slow and sacred, of inner knowing and heart-centred being and I will choose it day in and day out. ๐Ÿงก
With love,
Chrissy
